Government Secondary School, Owerri Old Boys Association presents: A Colloquium on Education in Nigeria; Theme: A Review of the Educational Sector in Nigeria and Recommendations for Sector Wide Reforms.Be part of this important activity which aims at achieving meaningful reformsin the Nigerian Education.

The colloquium seeks to build consensus on how best to achieve sector-wide reforms in a sustainable manner, through measurable outcomes and as such it is expected that the Colloquium recommendations will be central in defining the agenda that will drive the education sector.

The Keynote Speaker is Professor Peter Okebukola OFR, a former executive secretary of the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) and a longtime proponent for quality and effective education in Nigeria. He will be performing a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities and threats) analysis of the whole education sector. With a view to identifying those areas that require policy formulation and reforms for improved service delivery.

Professor Okebukola will be assisted by 3 facilitators namely:

Professor (Mrs) Chinwe Obaji, Former Minister of Education, Professor of International Education

Ochi Achinivu Ph.D., Former Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance and then Education

Alagbe AgodiPh.D.,Founder, Centre for Teaching and Learning, US Trained Teacher and Education Administrator

His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Ugochukwu Achecbe CFR, Obi of OnitshaAgbogidi will Chair the occasion.
